NIGHTLINE Beats James Corden for 2nd Quarter 2017 and 4th Straight Week in All Key Demos

ABC News' "Nightline" drew 1.377 million Total Viewers, 526,000 Adults 25-54 and 395,000 Adults 18-49 during the 2nd Quarter 2017, based on Most Current Data from Nielsen Media Research. "Nightline" led CBS' "The Late Late Show with James Corden" (1.314 million, 473,000 and 364,000, respectively) during the quarter in all key target demos: Total Viewers (+63,000), Adults 25-54 (+53,000) and Adults 18-49 (+31,000).

"Nightline" increased its leads over CBS' "The Late Late Show with James Corden" quarter to quarter in Adults 25-54 (+61% - 53,000 vs. 33,000) and Adults 18-49 (+48% - 31,000 vs. 21,000).

"Nightline" narrowed its margins versus the previous quarter (1Q17) with NBC's "Late Night with Seth Meyers" in Total Viewers (-15% - 71,000 vs. -84,000), Adults 25-54 (-46% - 61,000 vs. 113,000) and Adults 18-49 (-36% - 70,000 vs. 110,000) with its closest quarter performances with the NBC program in 1 year - since 2Q16.

Week of June 19, 2017:

ABC News' "Nightline" averaged 1.301 million Total Viewers, 495,000 Adults 25-54 and 357,000 Adults 18-49 during the week of June 19, 2017, based on Live + Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. For the 4th straight week in a row, "Nightline" led CBS' "The Late Late Show with James Corden" (1.171 million, 392,000 and 312,000, respectively) in all key target demos: Total Viewers (+130,000), Adults 25-54 (+103,000) and Adults 18-49 (+45,000).

"Nightline" cut its Adults 25-54 margin with NBC's "Late Night with Seth Meyers" versus the previous week (-13% - 73,000 vs. 101,000).
Season to date, "Nightline" leads CBS' "The Late Late Show with James Corden" in all key target demos: Total Viewers (+108,000 - 1.447 million vs. 1.339 million), Adults 25-54 (+38,000 - 544,000 vs. 506,000) and Adults 18-49 (+23,000 - 412,000 vs. 389,000).

Stories on "Nightline" last week included a deeper look into the death of Otto Warmbier and the response from the tour company used to arrange his trip, Michael Strahan's exclusive interview with Dennis Rodman following his visit to North Korea, an analysis of the newly released dashcam video from the fatal shooting of Philando Castile and interviews with TLC's Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins and Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas and pop mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs.

ABC News' "Nightline" is anchored by Dan Harris, Juju Chang and Byron Pitts. ROXANNA Sherwood is executive producer, and Steven Baker is senior broadcast producer. The program airs weeknights from 12:35-1:05 a.m. EDT, on The ABC Television Network.
