She Stoops to Conquer at Theatre at the Tabard

Pandora’s Box Productions presents a charming 1950s reimagining of Goldsmith’s beloved play.

It’s the age of jazz and gin, lipstick and laughter, and no one plays the game of love quite like Kate Hardcastle. When her bashful suitor mistakes her for a maid, she decides to have a little fun, turning the tables and teaching him a lesson in manners he’ll never forget.

This timeless comedy of raised stakes and mistaken identity shimmers anew in a world of satin and cigarette smoke, where flirtation is an art form and the ladies rewrite the rules of romance.

Expect bold flirtation, scandalous mischief, and delicious chaos as Restoration wit meets mid-century cool.
