I once saw a similar situation like that, childcatcher, Macbeth with only two witches due to illness!
The rain we knew is a thing of the past -
deep-delving, dark, deliberate you would say
browsing on spire and bogland; but today
our sky-blue slates are steaming in the sun,
our yachts tinkling and dancing in the bay
like racehorses. We contemplate at last
shining windows, a future forbidden to no one.

THAT is the funniest thing i have ever heard!!! Imagine the pre tabs announcement 'Ladies and Germs! -At tonight's performance of Macbeth we only can manage 3 witches' OMG lol
A young actress with Noel coward after a dreadful opening night performance said to him 'Well, i knew my lines backwards this morning!'' Noels fast reply was ''Yes dear, and thats exactly how you said them tonight'!'

WickedBoy, it was a bloodbath. No pun intended. You see, Macbeth is one of the alternating plays on the state exams cycle here. So when I went to see it, I was in an auditorium with 400 people my age who didn't know what a theatre was or how to behave in one. A lady from the theatre came out before the opening to explain that this was live theatre, and each performance is different, every night. However, this one was going to be especially different...

Everyone apart from myself burst into convulsions during the announcement, and the entire evening was a travesty from then on.

I hate my generation sometimes.
