I understand she had just been announced as the next Miss Marple.

Good choice!

Will she sing?
When not solving crimes will she do some knitting while listening to Sondheim?

A young actress with Noel coward after a dreadful opening night performance said to him 'Well, i knew my lines backwards this morning!'' Noels fast reply was ''Yes dear, and thats exactly how you said them tonight'!'

I love Julia and miss her terribly in the West End, be it in a play or musical.

As with Sean Connery, I understand she was very happy in semi-retirement, describing herself as being quite happy as a Surrey housewife. It took something very tempting to bring her back. Miss Marple did the trick.

Give her something irresistable and she'll come back to London.

fanastic to have her back. As much as the Joan Hickson "Miss Marples" oozed style and atmosphere, the Geradline McEwan ones were a total riot - camp, OTT, fun, ridiculous but absolutely bang-on for the spirit of the books which themselves are also so thinly written that they needed that form of treatment. Especially given the serious adaptations had been done so well.

Be nice to see the form of eccentricity Julia M brings to the role.
