Just booking up for my first trip to the refurbished Sheffield Crucible early next year. The theatre's website implies the railway station is only a few minutes walk away - is that accurate, and is it easy enough to find?

Thanks. With my current plan I'll have an hour to find it, which should even allow for my legendary incompetence with regard to maps and road signs. Sheffield Crucible / railway station

It's a five-to-ten minute walk uphill from the railway station.

The urban landscape architecture is supposed to guide you there: follow the water blade, cross the road, go up the avenue of trendy street lamps, cut through the millenium galleries and into the Winter Gardens, turn right and exit the Winter Gardens into Tudor Square and it's in front of you.

What're you seeing Marius?

I think he's going to be high-brow and go for the David Hare season.

You're both right. Probably seeing Me and My Girl and definitely seeing Racing Demon - the latter because of the cast (including your namesake, Scripps) rather than the playwright, whose work I can generally take or leave.
