According to a report by the Telegraph, West End ticket sales have increased two percent compared to this time last summer. Overall, audiences for West End plays are up 13 percent compared to last year, most likely due to the incredible star-power featured on stage, including: Kevin Spacey, Rupert Everett, Kara Tointon, James CordenDavid Tennant, Catherine Tate and many more.

President of the Society of London Theatre, Mark Rubinstein commented: "It's fantastic news. I think it's down to the fact that there are just so many really great shows on at the moment. If you go out to the theatre and have a great time, you're much more inclined to go back and see something else."

SOLT's Julian Bird continued: "The results are really encouraging. Anecdotally, talking to other businesses, tourism is quite strong in London at the moment, but also there has been a strong roster of shows. "If our revenues are above £500 million for the third year running, then I think that would be an amazing result in this climate - given the results that are being disclosed in the retail sector and other sectors."
