The final performance of Sean Mathias' production of Waiting for Godot starring Ian McKellen (Estragon), Roger Rees (Vladimir), Matthew Kelly (Pozzo) and Ronald Pickup (Lucky) will take place on Sunday 4 April as previously announced. Mathias' production opened at the Theatre Royal Haymarket in May last year following a UK national tour and has been revived for this final run before the production tours to Australia and New Zealand.

Following the final performances at the Theatre Royal Haymarket, Waiting for Godot will tour to the Comedy Theatre, Melbourne from 6 - 22 May; His Majesty's Theatre, Perth from 28 May - 6 June; Her Majesty's Theatre, Adelaide from 9 - 12 June; Drama Theatre, Sydney from 15 - 27 June and 6 - 10 July; St James Theatre, Wellington from 30 June - 3 July; and the Theatre Royal, Christchurch 13 and 14 July 2010. For the tour Ian McKellen, Roger Rees and Matthew Kelly will be joined by Michael Burrell.

Designs are by Stephen Brimson Lewis with lighting by Paul Pyant and sound by Paul Groothuis. Waiting for Godot is produced by the Theatre Royal Haymarket Company in partnership with Duncan C. Weldon Productions Ltd and Paul Elliott.

Waiting for Godot follows two consecutive days in the lives of Vladimir and Estragon, who divert themselves by clowning around, joking and arguing, while waiting expectantly and unsuccessfully for the mysterious Godot. Beckett's Waiting for Godot exploded on to the London stage over 50 years ago when it shocked as many people as it delighted.
