UK's WIND IN THE WILLOWS, with Alan Titchmarsh, to Close, Jan. 17

Audiences have just one month left to see the Royal Opera House's production of The Wind in the Willows in London's West End. Directed and choreographed by Will Tuckett and starring Alan Titchmarshwho has been lauded for his role as the story's narrator, the Olivier Award-winning production playing at the Vaudeville Theatre closes on 17th January 2015.

Based on Kenneth Grahame's timeless classic, the escapades of the hot-headed Toad, debonair Ratty, shy Mole and wise Badger are brought vividly to life through dance, song, music and puppetry: from a dusty old attic a wonderful tale unfolds. The peace of the river bank is rocked by a speeding car, a galloping caravan, a racing train and criminal deeds cooked up in the depths of the Wild Wood. Drawing inspiration from the music of Edwardian composer George Butterworth, the action is set to a score by Martin Ward. With narration written by former Poet Laureate Sir Andrew Motion and designs by The Quay Brothers and Nicky Gillibrand, Grahame's magical world is conjured for audiences of all ages at the Vaudeville Theatre.

The full cast of The Wind in the Willows includes Martin Harvey as Ratty, Cris Penfold as Toad, Ira Mandela Siobhan as Badger and Sonya Cullingford as Mole. Other members of the company include: Ewan Wardrop, Kayleigh Gore, Jay Webb, Alastair Postlewaite, Jessica Ellen, Rachael Mossom, Jo Meredith and Aron Wild.

Will Tuckett's critically acclaimed production originally transferred to the Duchess Theatre in December 2013, presented by CMP, and marked the Royal Opera House's first commercial transfer, a significant first for the organisation. The production was named Best Entertainment and Family at the 2014 Olivier Awards.
