Three Days of Rain, which opened at the Apollo Theatre on 10 February and runs until 9 May, has recouped its financial investment and has delivered another West End success.

Directed by Jamie Lloyd and starring James McAvoy, Nigel Harman and Lyndsey Marshal, Three Days of Rain has strongly attracted a consistently younger audience to the West End drawn by a high definition production.

A weekly audience survey conducted throughout the run by Nimax Theatres, owners of the Apollo, demonstrates the profile of the audience and points to a prominent demographic of 25-35 years, paying full price. This age group of audience is less driven by reviews and more driven by online activity and a sense of event about the production. Positive word of mouth has also generated significant sales.

Walker Janeway (James McAvoy) and his sister Nan (Lyndsey Marshal) reunite for the reading of their father's will in the Manhattan loft where he lived. A wealthy architect, Ned's legacy is the iconic, internationally renowned 1960s New York house designed with his late business partner Theo. Joined by Theo's son Pip (Nigel Harman), the three childhood friends meet to settle the estate and determine the future of the house. The discovery of a brief entry, "three days of rain", in Ned's diary is the only clue to the true stories of the previous generation. Three Days of Rain explores how the private worlds of one generation are reinterpreted by the next.

Three Days of Rain is produced by Caro Newling for Neal Street Productions and Nick Frankfort and Tobias Round for Creative Management and Productions (CMP).
