There will be a special matinee of Samuel Beckett's Waiting For Godot at the Theatre Royal Haymarket on Wednesday 5 August at 2.30pm.

This performance is in aid of the Actors' Benevolent Fund and will be their first benefit performance since Henry Irving performed charity matinees in 1883 through to the 1930s.

Waiting for Godot follows two consecutive days in the lives of tramps, Vladimir (Patrick Stewart) and Estragon (Ian McKellen), who divert themselves by clowning around, joking and arguing, while waiting expectantly and unsuccessfully for the mysterious Godot.
