Following rave reviews, which made the limited eleven-week season a complete sell-out at Wyndham's Theatre, and therefore due to public demand, the first major revival of William Nicholson's award-winning play Shadowlands will transfer to the Novello Theatre, opening on Friday December 21, for a limited nine-week season. Shadowlands will continue to star Charles Dance as 'C.S.Lewis', Janie Dee as 'Joy Gresham' and John Standing as 'Professor Christopher Riley'. Shadowlands first opened at Wyndham's Theatre on Monday 8 October.

Shadowlands is directed by Michael Barker-Caven, with design by Matthew Wright and lighting by Peter Mumford. Shadowlands is produced by Brian Eastman and Andrew Welch.

The 1990 production of Shadowlands, starring Nigel Hawthorne and Jane Lapotaire, won the Evening Standard Award for 'Best Play' and, on its transfer to Broadway, was nominated for a Tony Award for 'Best Play'. The 1993 film, starring Anthony Hopkins and Debra Winger, was nominated for two Oscars and five BAFTA Awards, winning the BAFTA for 'Best British Film'.

Performance times at the Novello Theatre will be Monday to Saturday evenings at 7:30PM, with Thursday and Saturday matinees at 2:30PM (there will be no performances on 24 and 25 December nor on 21 and 28 January and 4 February). Tickets, priced from £10-£45, are available from the Novello Theatre box office on 0870 950 0921.
