Self Esteem Curates a Special Show Tunes Episode of BBC 6 Music's Festive Takeover
"I’m a musical theatre girly. I love it"

Mercury nominated star Rebecca Lucy TAYLOR, aka Self Esteem, has had a momentous year following the release of her second album, Prioritise Pleasure, including composing the soundtrack to the West End production of Suzie Miller's play Prima Facie, starring Jodie Comer.
In this special Festive Takeover, Rebecca makes her 6 Music presenting debut, delving into the songs that have inspired her music, as well as some of her favourite discoveries of 2022.
On Little Shop of Horrors she says: "I played Audrey at school. And the famous actor Ryan Sampson was my Seymour. And I think about this a lot. And we should do a revival. Let me know how you're fixed Ryan!"
And then in the second hour of the show, in what she calls her most radical move to date, Rebecca brings a show tunes and soundtracks special to 6 Music. A whole hour of spectacular songs from her favourite musicals and soundtracks, including Lion King, Fame, Little Shop of Horrors and many more.
This programme is available on BBC Sounds now and will be broadcast on 6 Music on Tuesday 27 December at 7-9pm.
