It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas, and where better to get into the festive spirit than at Wilton's Music Hall, where panto is back with a bang this year as Roy Hudd presents the mother of all pantos: MOTHER GOOSE. After making their spectacular Wilton's debut last year with Dick Whittington, the same creative team are back, laden with glitz, goodies, baddies and laughs galore, with a few surprises along the way...

First created in 1902 for music hall legend Dan Leno, modern day Master of the music hall Roy Hudd has taken the classic tale of Mother Goose and specially adapted it for this unique venue, telling the story of a poor, ugly Dame who befriends a magical goose hoping its ability to lay golden eggs will make her rich and happy. Of course, nothing is ever simple, and chaos ensues as Mother Goose rises from rags to riches and right back again as good battles evil, with Virtue versus Vanity in an enchanting tale with a strong moral core - beauty and wealth cannot bring you happiness.

Roy was so inspired by Dan Leno and his original production of the panto that his new version of the character Mother Goose is based on Leno's authentic costume, with the Dame's wig almost exactly the same as the traditional one - a topknot that is warm, friendly and more than a little hard done by.

Theatre veteran Roy Hudd has been involved in more than fifty pantos and even met his wife, Debbie, who is directing this production of Mother Goose, on set many years ago. Sporting a stellar cast, many of whom appeared in last year's critically acclaimed, production including the man himself Roy Hudd as the Dame, the wicked Gareth Davies as Vanity, and the delightful Julia Sutton as Virtue, this is proper panto at its' finest. Tis' the season to be jolly, and audiences will certainly feel all wrapped up in Christmas spirit at Wilton's, where the festive sparkle truly shines.

Drawing on the spectacular Victorian surroundings, the set is inspired by the stunning building itself and provides a beautifully traditional backdrop for this charming yet side-splitting production. Expect spectacular song and dance, plenty of booing and hissing, uproarious laughter and fun for all the family as you warm up your vocal chords......all together now....HE'S BEHIND YOU!
