The luxurious Mayfair Hotel in central London was the venue as the Old Vic's The Crucible received its cinema premiere on 2nd December.
Attended by the cast, and preceded by an introduction from director Yael Farber and its star Richard Armitage, the film was created from three separate performances in the theatre - and will be in cinemas around the UK on the 4th and 7th December.
The Crucible picked up five awards at the 2014 BWW:UK Awards - Best Direction of a Play, Best Featured Actress in a Play (Samantha Colley), Best Featured Actor in a Play (Adrian Schiller), Best Leading Actor in a Play (Richard Armitage) and Best Leading Actress in a Play (Anna Madeley).
The Crucible was captured live in stunning High Definition by the producers of DigitalTheatre.com. Filmed using multiple cameras, the viewer is given the most immersive experience.CinemaLive, who hold the record for the highest grossing recorded theatre production in UK Box Office history for DigitalTheatre.com's Private Lives, will distribute The Crucible in over 350 UK cinemas.
