Acclaimed actor, Ian McKellen, returns to the Belgrade Theatre where he started his career, on September 4 to celebrate his 50th year in the acting business, which began in 1961 on the Belgrade's Main Stage.

This unique, one-off performance will see the award-winning actor take to the Main Stage once again to perform some of his favourite theatrical scenes, answer questions from the audience and talk about his hugely successful career on both stage and screen.

It all started in 1961 when he got his first job in a Belgrade production of A Man for All Seasons. He went on to appear in 15 Belgrade productions before moving on to perform in theatres around the country including The National Theatre and the RSC.

During his career he has also appeared in numerous Hollywood blockbusters such as X-Men, Gods and Monsters, for which his performance was Oscar-nominated, and the multi-award winning Lord of the Rings trilogy.

The performance will be a fundraising event for the Belgrade Theatre and tickets are priced at £19.61 to acknowledge the year of his stage debut. The ticket price includes a glass of bubbly on arrival (non-alcoholic option available).
