West End stars including Alex Gaumond and JoNathan Williams will feature on ITV1's SUPERSTAR tonight as Andrew Lloyd Webber continues his search for a leading man.

Williams featured in last night's show as part of The Rock Tenors, three of whom progressed to the next stage of auditions.

Gaumond was seen in passing but confirmed on Twitter that he made it to "Superstar Island".

Jonathan Ansell featured in last night's show, which concluded with his fate hanging in the balance. The initial auditions occurred earlier this year, when Ansell was about to begin his run in A Tale Of Two Cities. However, panellist Jason Donovan pointed out to Ansell that should he progress to the next stage of auditions, he would have to pull out of or reduce his commitment to the show he'd already agreed to do.

As we revealed last night, A Tale of Two Cities director Paul Nicholas (and original West End Jesus) told us back in April that he would never have stood in Ansell's way to be part of the Superstar process - and that's why Antony Hansen was announced as a late alternate to Ansell in the role of Charles Darnay.

If you missed last night's show, you can catch up with our Superstar liveblog - we'll be here tonight as well with all the gossip and news from Superstar Island.
