Fame Forever, the official sequel to the smash hit musical Fame, will receive its professional world première in a fully staged production at the Lyric Theatre in London's West End for one night only on Monday 8th September 2014 ahead of an anticipated 2015 / 2016 UK tour.

Conceived and developed by David De Silva, producer of the Academy Award winning film Fame, consulting producer on the popular TV series, and the driving force behind Fame the Musical, with music by Steve Margoshes, composer of the original musical, and book and lyrics by Ben H Winters, Fame Forever picks up the story of the characters 20 years on in an equally energetic and emotional journey.

It's the 20th Reunion of the Class of '84, two decades since the original musical's characters graduated from New York's famed La Guardia High School of Music & Art and the Performing Arts and there's a whole new generation pursuing their singular ambition of fame.

Serena Katz, once a promising actress, is now an English teacher at the school. Nick Piazza - her high school sweetheart - a huge (and rich) TV star. Tyrone Jackson has his own dance company, the Tyron Jackson Dance Theatre. Mabel Washington - now a weather girl - has her daughter at the school, as does radio DJ, Joe Vegas. Even the spirit of Carmen Diaz, still 18, makes an appearance to see how life, her classmates and time have passed her by.

Set between 2004 and 2014, Fame Forever is the ultimate musical sequel. With affectionate nods to the original, a specially commissioned score full of new songs, and a plot to satisfy even the stagiest of appetites and the most romantic of hearts, it's a testament to the enduring power of showbiz ambition and the generational journey through life's rich tapestry. There's even a performance of the obligatory and much-loved title track made famous by Irene Cara.

David De Silva is known as "Father Fame." He conceived, developed and produced the MGM motion picture, Fame. The film received four Academy Award nominations, winning for Best Song. He was consulting producer on the TV series, which ran for six years on network television and in syndication, and was broadcast in 68 countries. David conceived and developed Fame the Musical and he believes Fame will truly "live forever" in the theatre. It has been performed in almost every language in the world and its youth oriented idealism of pursuing the performing arts in education will always be an inspiration to young people everywhere. Fame Forever is David's latest theatrical testament to that belief. Sign up now for the exclusive pre-sale at www.fameforeveruk.com.
