Congratulations to Evan S for winning tickets to Hecuba!

About Hecuba:

The RSC's London Season comes to a dramatic conclusion with Hecuba, a vital examination of the psychology of the powerful and the powerless in time of conflict.

After a break of over forty years, Vanessa Redgrave returns to the Company to play the title role. One of this country's most acclaimed actors, her career has spanned film, stage and television. Her last appearance with the RSC was playing Imogen in Cymbeline in 1962.

The first great war between the east and west is over. Troy has fallen and the victorious Greek coalition forces are on their way home. Hecuba, once Queen of Troy, now a prisoner of war, is being transported back to Athens with other war booth, the women of Troy.

RSC Associate Director Laurence Boswell directs Hecuba. His RSC work includes Beauty and the Beast and The Dog in the Manger, part of the recent Spanish Golden Age Season at the Playhouse Theatre.

One of the most powerful and intense dramas ever written, this new production of Euripides' Hecuba is adapted by Britain's leading film and theatre poet, TONY HARRISON.

To book tickets, call the box office on 0870 060 6621.

Hecuba will play through May 7th, 2005.
