Sheffield's website describes the show as: "Family bonds and lifelong friendships are torn apart as one man's wild jealousy turns to tyranny. Years later, a young couple in another land set in motion a miraculous redemption. Comedy and tragedy combine in Shakespeare's fantastical story, directed by Sheffield Theatres' Associate Director Paul Miller (The Daughter In Law, Democracy, Hamlet)."

The creative team features designer Simon Daw, lighting designer Mark Doubleday and composer Terry Davies.

Lapaine has also appeared in The Old Vic's Hedda Gabler in 2012. Lapaine will be recognisable to audiences as the swimmer Muriel marries in P .J. Hogan's 1994 film, Muriel's Wedding. He has also appeared on the big screen in Jack the Giant Slayer, Zero Dark Thirty and more.
