The romance that defied traditions...

The legend of Heer Ranjha tells the tale of two lovers and their feuding families, and holds the same place in Punjabi literature as Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. An adaptation of that classic love story, this exciting new musical features specially commissioned music and choreography from across Pakistan and the UK.

Set against the beautiful backdrop of the Punjab, ISHQ will be performed in English at Sadler's Wells to mark 70 years of Pakistan's independence, featuring a combination of classical and modern dance with a unique blend of poetry and fusion music.

One of the most famous romantic folk legends of the East is brought to life through multimedia, special effects, stunning dances and original music supported by a live choir.
