Barb Jungr to Sing Bob Dylan on Solo UK Tour

Barb Jungr has wowed audiences and critics worldwide with her powerful reinterpretations of Bob Dylan's work. Known for her passionate singing, minimal and subtle arrangements, and great humour, Barb is the definitive performer of one of the great musical icons of the 20th century, Bob Dylan.

On April 25 in Liverpool, Barb starts a short UK tour with her show Barb Jungr sings Bob Dylan Every Grain of Sand. Followed by shows in Stoke By Nayland (April 27), London's Live At Zedel (May 4), Brighton Komedia (May 9) and Norwich Adnams Speilgeltent (May 22) On all dates except Brighton, when Simon Wallace will be her pianist, she will be accompanied by Jenny Carr on piano.

Variously described by critics as magnificent, mesmerizing and magical, Barb Jungr has built a formidable reputation as an international live performer and recording artiste. She has perfected the art of interpretation to such a level, that listeners are often astonished to discover that well-known songs that they thought they knew, have been wonderfully transformed and very often elevated when Barb weaves her magic spell.

Barb has attracted particular acclaim for her work on the songs of Bob Dylan, which produced two critically acclaimed albums - Hard Rain and Every Grain of Sand and a series of sell-out, award-winning transatlantic shows.

Every Grain of Sand, which was re- released in 2017, was Barb's first album of Bob Dylan songs and has deservedly become a cult classic winning her a dedicated fan base from around the world. It was recognized by celebrated author Will Friedwald with a dedicated chapter in his book "The Great Jazz and Pop Vocal Albums", which was published last year. "'A song can tell a story, or it can paint a picture, it can convey images, it can communicate ideas- and Jungr, like Dylan, is above all a master communicator.' Will Friedwald

The album even boasts celebrity fans including Julian Clary, Alexei Sayle and Maggie Steed, with Jeremy Irons naming it as one of the must-have albums on BBC Radio 4's Desert Island Discs.

"The Dylan songs I sing, are the ones that would just not let go," says Barb 'songs of love and spiritual longing, beautifully crafted and profoundly moving"
