So here we are again [having met originally at the nominees' lunch]. Now you've won the Olivier, you must be thrilled!

I'm pretty thrilled! I keep looking at it, I haven't had a chance to take it in yet.

How did you feel when you heard your voice?

I felt a bit numb. I thought 'get up, say the words and get off'. It felt like another bit of a performance, really. I had to get up, do something and then get off again. But I'm absolutely thrilled now. Everything usually takes about ten minutes to sink in.

Did you have a speech prepared?

I did a bit, because I knew that I didn't want to get up there and have nothing to say, which I knew would be the case. So I thought about something I might say. Just hope it comes.

So it's like acting in a way.

Yes! And my mum said to me, make sure you prepare a speech because she watched the Baftas and thought all the speeches were awful. And she said to me 'make sure you prepare a speech'.

Are your family here with you?

[annoyed] No they're not, but they're watching online. So I've got to go and get my phone and give them a text.

It's been a great night for the Donmar, with everyone here apart from Eddie.

I know, poor Eddie! I'm going out to New York in a week's time, so I'll say hello to him. I've already seen it, but I'll go and see Red!
