Ana Villafañe to Perform Unplugged in London Amid SINATRA: THE MUSICAL West End Run
The Cuban-Salvadoran star will take the stage at PizzaExpress Live Chelsea, unveiling original music and the covers that paved her career.
Stage star Ana Villafañe will perform Ana Villafañe: Unplugged at PizzaExpress Live Chelsea in London on June 7. The concert comes during Villafañe's first extended stay in London, where she is currently starring as Ava Gardner in SINATRA: THE MUSICAL in the West End.
The performance will feature Villafañe in an acoustic setting, highlighting original music that blends soul, pop, and Latin influences. The Cuban-Salvadoran singer, songwriter, and actress has developed a bilingual catalog that moves between English and Spanish and has collaborated with the Estefan family and Universal Music Group.
Born in New York and raised in Miami, Villafañe first gained widespread recognition when she originated the role of Gloria Estefan in Broadway's ON YOUR FEET!, earning a Theatre World Award and a Drama League Award nomination. Her stage credits also include IN THE HEIGHTS at the Kennedy Center, MCC Theater's COLLECTIVE RAGE: A PLAY IN FIVE BETTIES, and CHICAGO, where she joined the production's reopening cast in 2021.
More recently, Villafañe appeared opposite Holland Taylor in Lincoln Center's premiere of N/A, portraying Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Her screen credits include New Amsterdam, Younger, and the voice role of Eva Eight in Apple TV+'s Emmy Award-winning animated series WondLa. She will also appear in the upcoming film Castro's Daughter opposite James Franco.
Villafañe's music catalog has surpassed 1.35 million streams. Previous solo performances have included engagements at Joe's Pub, Tavern on the Green, SoHo House New York, and Amelia's 1931 in Miami.
The concert is presented by Okay Concert, a Miami-based entertainment company that operates as a booking agency, artist management firm, and record label through Okay Publishing. Villafañe's London appearance marks the company's first international showcase.
