Live Theatre and Soho Theatre have announced that following its critically acclaimed sell-out double run at Live Theatre, Newcastle and Soho Theatre, A WALK ON PART: THE FALL OF NEW LABOUR will transfer to the Arts Theatre in London's West End, with John Hodgkinson reprising his highly acclaimed role as Chris Mullin, from Tuesday 19 June to Saturday 14 July. Opening night is Tuesday 26 June, 7.30pm.

Director and Artistic Director of Live Theatre, Newcastle, Max Roberts said "I am thrilled A Walk on Part is continuing into the West End and the work of two extremely witty and skilful writers, (Michael Chaplin and Chris Mullin) will be enjoyed by a wider audience, along with the extraordinary performances from this exceptionally talented cast."

A WALK ON PART reveals an insider's view of the last and most turbulent decade in politics as the critically acclaimed and witty diaries of former MP for Sunderland South, Chris Mullin, come alive in an exhilarating ride of political humour. In February 2012 the company of A WALK ON PART had the great privilege of becoming the first theatre show to be invited by the Speaker of the House to perform in The State Rooms at the House of Commons for an audience of MPs, Peers and Lords.

John Hodgkinson's previous theatre credits include The Winter's Tale (Headlong Tour), His Dark Materials, Uncle Vanya, Neville's Island, (Birmingham Rep), Aristo (Chichester Festival Theatre), Hapgood (Birmingham Rep/West Yorkshire Playhouse), The Front Page, Absurdia (Donmar Warehouse), The Eleventh Capital (Royal Court), The Taming of The Shrew, A Midsummer Night's Dream, The Hare Trilogy, Oh What a Lovely War, As You Like It, Romeo and Juliet and The Two Gentlemen of Verona (Regents Park Open Air Theatre), I Have Been Here Before (Watford Palace) and Alice In Wonderland, Love's Labours Lost, The Beggers Opera, A Jovial Crew, The Winter's Tale, Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde, The Pretenders, Edward II, Richard II, Alice Through The Looking Glass, Leocadia, Events Whilst Guarding Bofors Gun and The Comedy of Errors (Royal Shakespeare Company).

He is joined by returning cast members Tracy Gillman and Hywel Morgan plus Joe Caffrey who will together play over 100 different characters including Tony Benn, Tony Blair, Gordon Brown, George Osbourne and John Prescott.

Joe Caffrey joins the cast of A Walk on Part; he first achieved West End stardom in Lee Hall's farce Cooking with Elvis, he also played Billy's older brother Tony in the original London cast of Billy Elliot the Musical and returned in 2008, in the role of Billy's father. Caffrey has also appeared in several ITV and BBC productions plus the Bridget Jones film, The Edge of Reason.

Tracy Gillman returns to A Walk on Part, her other theatre credits include: Looking for Tom (Live Theatre); Foreign Lands (Finborough Arms); In the Midnight Hour (Coventry Belgrade/National Tour) and The Phantom of the Opera (Shaftesbury Theatre/World Tour).

Hywel Morgan returns to A Walk on Part, his other theatre credits include: Blithe Spirit (Watermill Theatre); Indian Ink (Salisbury Playhouse); ONA$$I$ (Chichester Festival Theatre) and War and Peace (Shared Experience).
