Get ready to put on your blue suede shoes and poodle skirts, because Lucille's Rock and Roll Revival is coming to the Washington County Playhouse in Hagerstown, MD!

Opening January 24, Lucille's Rock and Roll Revival is a revue musical featuring popular songs from the 1950's and 1960's, taking the audience on a musical journey with plenty of laughter and dancing along the way.

"For some [people], it will be a fun evening of music they grew up with. For others, it's a chance to hear songs their parents or grandparents once danced to" said cast member Anthony Marchese.

Directed and musically directed by Jeff Wine, Lucille's Rock and Roll Revival is also the final show of the Washington County Playhouse 29th annual season. The revue musical is set in a typical 1950's diner, with the waiters and diner patrons performing popular songs from the 50's and 60's.

"I have enjoyed working with music I'm less familiar with. I've had a lot of fun researching music of that era. I have been learning about the artists and the thought process behind some of the songs that were written, talking to people who grew up in that era, asking their opinions and what they remember" said Wine.

" We are trying to do justice to music that many of our audience members are going to know and love. We have the challenge of presenting this music to those who know it in a way that may bring back fond memories, yet we will make it a unique experience at the same time" said Marchese.

"One of the biggest challenges was narrowing down my song selections. I tried my best to include a wide variety, without straying too far from keeping it all about rock-n-roll. I've also enjoyed arranging the music and working with the band" said Wine.

Local rock band Fallen Sparrow will provide the instrumental music and accompaniment for all of the songs in the show.

"Everyone will have a good time, regardless of your age. I've intentionally included a lot of songs that have been re-made over the past few decades, so younger audiences will be familiar with a lot of the songs. There are also opportunities for audience participation!" added Wine.

Audience members are encouraged to join the fun by wearing 1950's and 1960's costumes to the show. Prizes will be awarded each performance to the audience member with the best costume.

The Lucille's Rock and Roll Revival cast features Loretta Czerbinski, Jeff Czerbinski, Andre Brown, KariLee Grossnickle, Mike Heyser, Caitlyn Joy, Anthony Marchese, Chaste Martin, Ralph Mauriello, Ashley Myers, Claudia Patterson, Madison Sowell, Scott Turner and J.D. Wine.

Lucille's Rock and Roll Revival runs January 24, 25 and 31, February 1, 7, 8, 14, 15, 21, 22 and 28 and March 1, with a matinee performance on March 2.
