Deep in the Caucasus Mountains of Georgia, a servant girl named Grusha risks her life to rescue an abandoned baby from civil war. Overcoming violence and poverty, Grusha relies on kindness and perseverance to begin her own family. Constellation is also excited to unveil the dramatic new seating configuration for The Caucasian Chalk Circle: the audience will surround the stage on two sides, with three smaller seating sections that are recessed into the stage itself. Travelling through the audience, actors will enter and exit the playing space through ten different entrances. The Caucasian Chalk Circle represents the most immersive staging Constellation has ever accomplished, furthering the company’s reputation for spectacular yet intimate theatre.
