How To Die In Japan is a multimedia solo comedy show exploring Japanese funeral etiquette, family chaos, and the collision of two cultures, performed by Miyo Yamauchi, a Moth StorySLAM champion based in Los Angeles. The show blends dark comedy, an original score composed by Michael D. Mortilla, and animation by Anthony Phills to guide audiences through the rigid rules of TPO — Time, Place, and Occasion — where even a simple funeral becomes a high-stakes study in etiquette. Lighting design is by Willow McFatter, and the show is directed by Jane Morris. This marks Yamauchi's first-ever East Coast performance and is her follow-up to her sold-out solo show How To Be Japanese.
