How far would you go to reunite with a deceased loved one? That is the central question posed by “Ghosts”, an original sci-fi/horror drama, with elements of humor. “Ghosts” explores loss and how we cope with our loved ones and past relationships becoming twisted in their own ghost stories. It follows Levi (Evan Crump), as he attempts to communicate with the paranormal using a mysterious device. Of course, all is not as it seems as Levi discovers the device’s hidden secrets with ramifications that reveal as much about himself as his family’s past. Written by Elford Alley and directed by Kathleen Barth, “Ghosts” performs at the Capital Fringe Festival 2018 this July.
“Ghosts” originally premiered as a one-act play at the Little Theatre of Alexandria to buzzworthy reviews (it was awarded the “Most Favored Show” by audience members in a post-event survey) and sold-out shows in October 2017. The expanded production will feature a cast of local veterans and newcomers to the greater D.C. theater scene. “Ghosts” was recently featured in this Fringe Peek, written by director Kathleen Barth.
“We have a stellar design team collaborating with us: Michelle (DJ Miss Guided) is working with us on sound design, while Nick Friedlander works with us on lights,” commented Barth on the newly-expanded production. “I cannot wait to see both Michelle’s and Nick’s respective designs come into fruition during tech. Together, Michelle’s sound and Nick’s light design will accentuate the haunted and dangerous world within Ghosts.”
