We Happy Few productions, named by the DCist as one of the Best Small Theatre Companies of 2015, will bring an action-packed, modern look to Shakespeare's HENRY V.

This 90-minute production will embrace We Happy Few's commitment to illuminating classical texts through a fresh lens, and presenting them in a fast-paced, actor-driven experience. HENRY V runs April 12-29 at Capitol Hill Arts Workshop.

You know Henry's story, now hear everyone else's.

Praised by the DC Theatre Scene for "addictive and engaging" productions, WHF will apply it's acclaimed treatment to HENRY V. The history books are filled with glamorous stories of war: brave leaders, glorious victories, underdog successes. But in a time when we are becoming increasingly disenchanted with our leaders, We Happy Few wants to hear another side of the story. When you look at war through the eyes of an soldier, it's something else entirely: a job, an obligation, an opportunity, a burden, a death sentence, a mistake.

"There is none of you so mean and base that hath not noble lustre in your eyes."

Founded in 2012 by Hannah Todd and Raven Bonniwell, We Happy Few is committed to presenting productions that offer a unique perspective on classic texts. We Happy Few has established itself as one of Washington D.C.'s best small theatre companies (the DCist, 2015) by nurturing a creative environment that thrives on ensemble collaborations with some of the nation's most promising emerging theatre artists. WHF's flagship production of a six actor, 90-minute HAMLET premiered at the 2012 Capital Fringe Festival to great acclaim, exploring the idea that the entire play unfolded in the title character's mind. WHF continued with lauded ensemble productions of THE TEMPEST, Romeo & Juliet, THE DUCHESS OF MALFI, THE WINTER'S TALE, and an original adaptation of Caucasian Chalk Circle, CHALK. DC Metro Theater Arts declared that We Happy Few's work is "a new approach to Shakespeare you will not want to miss."

HENRY V is presented at the Capitol Hill Arts Workshop (545 7th St SE) located in the Eastern Market neighborhood, Washington, DC. Performances are April 12 - 29: Wednesday through Saturday at 7:30, with Saturday matinees at 2pm and one industry night on Monday, April 24 at 7:30.
