Euan Morton, who was originally scheduled to bring his solo cabaret act to Signature Theatre in Arlington, has cancelled his appearance due to another commitment at Yale Repertory Theatre. The January 9-12, 2013 slot will now be filled by Emily Skinner.

Morton, Tony Award nominee and star of Signature's Chess, wrote an apology on Facebook after announcing the cancellation.

"I have been offered (and with Signature's blessing, accepted) a job at Yale Rep Theatre in New Haven. It's an exciting, funny play and with only a cast of two (playing numerous characters) it was too good a challenge to turn down. These are the kinds of projects an actor lives for. It tore me up to give up the chance to share beautiful music with you all this time around. However the scheduling was a direct clash with the concert dates and no alternative could be found. I'm so very sorry. This has never happened in my music career before. I hope you can understand and will come hear me next time time Signature has me back - which they've assured me they will do!"

Emily Skinner has appeared on Broadway in Billy Elliot, The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, Dinner At Eight, Dreamgirls, The Full Monty, James Joyce's The Dead and Side Show. Her off-Broadway credits include Fanny Hill, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, Pardon My English, Lucky Stiff, No Strings, My Life With Albertine, Wantabanaland and A Christmas Carol. She has appeared in regional productions of The Witches of Eastwick, Mame, On the Record, Breakfast at Tiffany's, Merrily We Roll Along, Company, The Full Monty and more.
