Winner of the Kesselring Prize for Playwriting, Bridget Carpenter’s The Faculty Room explores the darker side of high school life from the inside of that mythic room, the teacher’s lounge. English teacher Adam, Drama teacher Zoe, and Ethics teacher Bill, along with mysterious new World History teacher Carver, are all taunted by the disembodied voice of Principal Dennis on the P.A. system. Dedicated yet desperate, inspired yet burnt out, hateful yet loving – the teachers of Madison Feury High are a bundle of contradictions in Carpenter’s rich portrait. A funny and caustic look at how truly messed up the relationships between teachers and students can get, The Faculty Room erupts with gunshots, desperate longing, and a growing wave of spiritual fanaticism. Our education system may never recover.

Cast and Creative Team for The Faculty Room at Stone Valley Arts at Fox Hill

Cast

Danielle Solomon
Zoe Bartholemhew
Danielle Solomon (Zoe Bartholemhew) is very excited to be making her debut with One Room Theatrics. As a long-time theater lover, she has done a variety of shows, but her favorite role was Van’s Sister in Dog Sees God: Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead. Since starting her music teaching career, she has also taken over the middle school drama club where she has found a new love for directing! She wants to thank her family and friends for their constant support and for helping her follow her passions.
Lennon Philo
Adam Younger
When not summoning eldritch horrors or crafting surreal dreamscapes, Lennon moonlights as a theatrical conjurer of characters and chaos. Known for being the actor with a thousand voices, he specializes in making the audience laugh hysterically and cry existentially – sometimes at the same time. A production enthusiast with a heart for community building, Lennon believes every good performance should bring everyone together and leave the audience yearning for what comes next. He would like to thank his parents and stepparents, as well as his siblings for continuing to support his shenanigans and inspiring him to pursue his passions both on and off the stage. He would also like to thank the wonderful directors and fellow actors/actresses he has worked with throughout the years for helping him develop the theatrical skills he uses both on and off the stage. He hopes you all enjoy the show.
Cade Landesman
Carver Durand
Cade Landesman (Carver Durand) is single-handedly in this play. Thinking back to the beginning, that’s when he started. Contrary to today, he had always done tech, usually lighting. But on one fateful Tuesday, things changed; Mr. Mitrano, hopeful, rang Cade up, and asked him to act in a play. And Cade happily obliged. And he’s been acting ever since.
Dennis Marden
Bill
Dennis Marden (Bill) has been involved with community theater for over 40 years with the Marble Valley Players, the Brandon Town Players, and Inn One Entertainment, as a set designer, builder, actor, and director. He was also the founder and director of the Neshobe School Players for 15 years. Memorable productions include The Sound of Music, South Pacific, The Odd Couple, Cats, Nunsense, Kilroy Was Here, Moon Over Buffalo, and many Dinner Theatre Murder Mysteries. Dennis would like to thank One Room Theatrics for giving this octogenarian another chance to experience the thrill of being on stage again!
Cameron Wescott
Prin. Dennis
Cameron Wescott (Principal Dennis / Sound Designer) is a musician, conductor, and teacher from Poultney, Vermont. He graduated from Castleton University with a bachelor's degree in music education in 2023. He is the director of choral activities at Otter Valley Union High School in Brandon, Vermont. He performs with various musical ensembles throughout the states of Vermont and New York on voice, trumpet, and bass. Previous sound design credits include No Exit, A Christmas Carol: The Radio Show and Private Peaceful. In his free time, Cameron enjoys fishing and spending time with his dog, Mac.
Jordan Bertrand
Student
Jordan Bertrand (Student) is delighted to be part of this production, mostly because it means they didn’t have to get a real job (yet). They’ve previously appeared in SpongeBob The Musical as Patrick and Seagull in Sea Changes. Once, they even got a standing ovation from their dog! When not on stage, Jordan can be found dramatically sighing in lieu of doing anything important, enjoys memorizing lines they’ll immediately forget, interpreting vague director notes like some sort of ancient prophecy, and pretending tech week is a team-building exercise. They dedicate this performance to chaos, life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, and to the one bobby pin holding it all together. Heck Yeah!
