WILD AND PRECIOUS Set for Town Hall Theater, 11/11
Cadwell is now living in the Boston area, but he has local roots. His parents, John and Mary Cadwell, were longtime residents of Pittsford. His brother Ashley lives in Middlebury. Last spring, Cadwell approached Town Hall Theater with the idea to bring his successful show back to his family and friends in Vermont.
The theatrical memoir includes song, dance, poetry and storytelling. The play makes its way through the Stonewall riots, the AIDS crisis and the legalization of gay marriage in Massachusetts. The journey may be his own, but it encompasses the last 50 years of the gay rights movement.
"It's an amazing arc that I've lived through, so I'm using my life as a case study of social progress," said Cadwell. "This is an example of our ability to grow as a culture."
Wild and Precious will be presented at Middlebury's Town Hall Theater on Sunday, November 11 at 7 pm. Tickets are $12 and may be purchased at www.townhalltheater.org, 802 382-9222, at the THT Box Office (Mon-Sat, noon-5 pm) and at the door.
