Bandanna Dance Party is set to be held at Town Hall Theater. If your daughter Anna has a sensational singing voice and you want to create a band that will showcase her many talents, what do you call it?

Dad Jim Lienau came up with the perfect name, and now BandAnna is the group that everyone's talking about.

"In one week, three different people came into my office and demanded that we book BandAnna," says THT executive director Douglas Anderson. "The band recently played some dates in Lincoln that blew the roof off of Burnham Hall, and people are really excited about their first big gig in Middlebury."

BandAnna plays everything from Patsy Cline to covers of rock & roll standards. It's a great band for dancing, and the big Town Hall Theater floor will be cleared for the occasion. The balcony will be open for those who want to sit and simply experience this remarkable young singer.

Jim Lienau has a long history of making music in the area, going back to fondly-remembered Fat Tones, a 5-person a cappella group. He's joined by Ron Rost on keyboards, Glenn Goodwin on bass, and J.R. Highter on drums.

Anna Lienau, though only in her early 20's, has a knowledge of music that stretches back half a century. Her renditions of Patsy Cline songs could be mistaken for the originals, and whether she's singing country, folk or rock & roll, she throws herself into the music. "This is one of the best young voices I've heard in a long time," says Anderson. "See her now, because she's going places."

BandAnna will appear at Town Hall Theater for a dance party on Saturday, October 8, starting at 8 pm. A cash bar and snacks will be available. Tickets are $10, and may be purchased at www.townhalltheater.org, by calling 382-9222, at the THT Box Office or at the door.
