Geekenders' HOW I MET MY MOTHER: A BACK TO THE FUTURE PARODY MUSICAL Promises 1.21 Gigawatts of Fun

Hop in your Delorean and join Canadian "cult sensation" Geekenders on a musical journey through the space-time continuum in 'How I Met My Mother: A Back to the Future Parody Musical'! With song parodies, hilarity, dance, and "The Power of Love," this '80s time travel parody is a whimsical escape from 2017. This show includes parodies of your favourite showtunes and eighties pop rock.

In the past five years Geekenders shows have drawn over 50,000 Canadians to pop culture-themed shows ranging from a vaudeville send-up of the Star Wars films to a musical exploring the world of Portal and Half-Life. The troupe, called a "cult sensation" by Vancity Buzz, has gone viral on the internet with Portal 2: The (Unauthorized) Musical and Not the Bees: A Burlesque Tribute to Nicolas Cage, shut down pop culture conventions with packed houses, and changed the face of Vancouver's theatrical community, producing body-positive, socially-aware theatre that is accessible and interesting to an entirely new demographic of people.

Geekenders will make its return to the musical theatre genre with this all-new pantomime-style show, complete with tongue-in-cheek humour and the performers that have gained a faithful following over the past two years. Using musical parodies of songs from shows such as Beauty and the Beast, Shrek the Musical, Seussical, and, The Rocky Horror Show, and artists like Billy Joel and Huey Lewis and the News, to tell the entire story of a boy, his mother, and a time-travelling Delorean, this will be unlike any other musical on the planet.

'How I Met Your Mother: A Back to the Future Parody Musical' runs tonight, December 8th, to December 10th, 2017 at Vancouver's Rio Theatre, and is all-ages. Tickets are available through riotheatretickets.ca, and more information on Geekenders is at geekenders.ca or facebook.com/Geekenders.
