Snakes and Ladders is about race identity and the testing of family loyalties and is partly inspired by real-life stories and memories collected from black hairdressers in the South East. It stars Cathy Tyson.

Amma can't bear to relax, Kim loves being the one "blessed" with "good hair" and Sista is allergic to all forms of family life, Beyonce and any Timotei advert. Each sister knows their place, that is until Simone comes along and suddenly no one knows who they are anymore.

Think Mike Leigh meets jerk chicken: this play will make audiences both laugh and cry.

Snakes And Ladders is produced by Plenty Productions and Rolemop Arts, written by Sarah Naomi Lee and directed by Kerri McLean. Tyson is a LA Film Critic and New York Film Critics Circle Golden award-winning actress, who rose to fame with her stunning performance in the film Mona Lisa (co-starring Bob Hoskins) and in the cult TV series, Band of Gold.

Snakes And Ladders is at The Marlowe Studio at 8pm tonight 24 April. To book, call the Box Office on 01227 787787 or visit marlowetheatre.com.
