THE GRUFFALO to Offer Three Access Performances at Lyric Theatre, Shaftesbury Avenue

By:

Tall Stories has announced the inclusion of three access performances during its West End run of THE GRUFFALO this summer at the Lyric Theatre, Shaftesbury Avenue.

The BSL INTERPRETED performance on Thursday 23 July at 11am will have actress and signer JENI DRAPER integrated into the show.

VocalEyes will work closely with Tall Stories to bring the AUDIO DESCRIBED performance to life on Thursday 30 July at 11am. The visual elements of THE GRUFFALO live will be described on the day through individual headsets. Audience members will also get the chance to take part in a touch tour of the set and stage, enabling blind and partially sighted people to share the theatrical experience with their friends and family.

The charity Mousetrap Theatre Projects is coordinating the RELAXED PERFORMANCE on Tuesday 4 August at 2pm. Not only is this a first for Tall Stories in the West End, but it will be the first time Mousetrap has offered a relaxed performance for such a young audience. Together they will create a show with an atmosphere where everyone can relax - kids, siblings and parents alike; with bean bags and safe areas outside the auditorium to visit during the show should anyone want to. Relaxed performances are specifically designed to provide an opportunity for people with autism, learning difficulties or other sensory and communication needs, to enjoy the show in a more relaxed environment.

Tall Stories says: "Tall Stories is committed to creating performances for all and we are thrilled to be working with three fantastic organisations to deliver world class performances accessible to all. We are especially excited that this will be the first ever relaxed performance for this age group in the West End. It's great to see more and more companies starting to work in this way and we are proud to be at the forefront of this. All of Tall Stories' shows will include a relaxed or access performances this Christmas."
