St Helens Theatre Royal Announces September Programme

Get down to St Helens Theatre Royal this September as they present a jam-packed month of entertainment including an international smash hit musical, a trio of music tributes, a Cbeebies family favourite, and lots more.

TV and recording star Joe Longthorne kicks off the month as he comes to St Helens with his 50th Anniversary Tour on Wednesday 5 September. Join Joe for a fantastic night of song, chat and laughter as he takes audiences on a rollercoaster of impressions including Shirley Bassey, Tom Jones, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and many more.

Bill Kenwright's 'Dazzling' (Sunday Telegraph) production of the international smash hit musical Blood Brothers returns from Tuesday 11 - Saturday 15 September. Considered 'One of the best musicals ever written' (Sunday Times), Blood Brothers, written by award-winning playwright Willy Russell has triumphed across the globe and stars Olivier Award nominated British actress Linzi Hateley who makes her debut in the seminal role of Mrs Johnstone.

Cbeebies favourite, Bing, visits the Theatre Royal on Tuesday 18 - Wednesday 19 September in the debut stage show Bing Live! Join Bing, Sula, Coco and Pando as they find out how to tell stories by pretending, dressing-up and singing songs in this brand-new show full of fun and laughter.

One of the UK's leading Beatles tribute shows visits the venue on Saturday 22 September bringing audiences a lively dose of 'Beatlemania'; Magic of the Beatles features all the hits including Love Me Do, She Loves You, Please Please Me, From Me To You, Help, I Feel Fine, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, Hey Jude, Let It Be and may more.

Hailed as "the best Fury since Fury", Michael King and his fantastic collection of musicians take audiences on a journey through the musical career of Britain's best loved rock 'n' roll legend in The Billy Fury Years on Thu 27 September; an exciting 2-hour show filled with Billy Fury's greatest hits.

The music continues on Fri 28 September with The Stars of Irish Country Show bringing together 4 of Irelands favourite country music stars. Join Frank Mc Caffrey, Louise Morrisey, Stephen Smyth and Curtis Magee as they showcase all their trademark hit songs in the company of the fantastic band Keltic Storm.

Bringing September to a close, go back to the groovy times of the 60's as The Simon and Garfunkel Story tells the incredible journey of the most successful folk/rock duo of all time on Sun 30 September. Featuring all the hits including Mrs Robinson, Cecilia, Bridge Over Troubled Water, Homeward Bound, Sound of Silence, and more.
