Two people meet, nothing extraordinary yet, except... She can't speak and he can't read but through chance, miscommunication and the help of coincidence, two people meeting becomes extraordinary.
This is a bizarre tale told through Smoking Apples' identifiable style of puppetry, physical theatre and original music. Performing at The Warren, for the very first time, critically acclaimed Smoking Apples bring you The Wordcatcher on the 25th, 26th and 27th May, 2pm.
Smoking Apples have been working together since 2009 and have developed an approach to creating an alternative kind of puppet theatre, incorporating storytelling, physical and visual theatre. They aim to ignite an adult imagination by sharing beautiful stories about the strengths and intricacies of human nature.
Smoking Apples have performed The Wordcatcher extensively throughout London and have previously performed at the BAC, the Lyric Hammersmith, The Rose Theatre and The Blue Elephant Theatre. Their other work, outside of theatre, includes a shadow puppetry music video for Kate Bush and puppeteering the Lion heads at Our Greatest Team Parade, the Olympic and Paralympic celebration 2012.
