Paul Potts, Brendan Cole & Jodie Prenger Coming to The Grand Theatre
The first winner of Britain's Got Talent - opera singer PAUL POTTS will be performing live in concert at Wolverhampton Grand Theatre as part of a line up of four new shows announced today.
On Friday 16 October, Paul Potts will be joined by guest soprano Catriona Murray in concert. The Bristol-born, Port Talbot-residing tenor, for whom singing has always been a haven and a source of joy, is living his dream. Socially awkward, bullied and taunted at school, singing in his local church choir proved to be a sanctuary from the playground abuse. Listening to La Boheme, aged 16, Paul fell in love with opera, a romance that was to set him on a turbulent journey that would eventually lead to him performing on, and winning, the first series of Britain's Got Talent in 2007.
Strictly Come Dancing sensation Brendan Cole returns to Wolverhampton due to popular demand, following two previous sell out shows in 2014 and 2015. His show, A NIGHT TO REMEMBER will be a new production for 2016 and will be at the Grand Theatre on Friday 29 January.
From Tuesday 2 - Saturday 6 February 2016 will be the National Theatre production of J.B. Priestly's AN INSPECTOR CALLS. West End leading lady Jodie Prenger will star in a brand new production of TELL ME ON A SUNDAY - the musical composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Don Black for one night only on Thursday 2 June 2016. The West End and Broadway hit charts the romantic misadventures of a young English girl in New York in the heady days of the 1980's. Brimming with optimism, she seeks success and love. But as she weaves her way through the maze of the city and her own anxieties, frustrations and heartaches she begins to wonder whether she's been looking for love in all the wrong places.
This iconic musical, with a wonderful original score, features Unexpected Song the chart-topping Take That Look Off Your Face and title track Tell Me on A Sunday.
Originally conceived for television, TELL ME ON A SUNDAY has been previously performed by legendary musical theatre stars including Marti Webb and Sarah Brightman. This new 2016 production directed by Paul Foster includes an intimate post-show chat with Jodie about life, love and playing the role of Emma.
