SOUL legends, Paul Merton and Sixties Gold have been added to The Marlowe Theatre's autumn line-up.

The first Sixties Gold: 50th Anniversary Tour concert on Tuesday 15 October has sold out, and another one has been added on Tuesday 1 October. The line-up includes Gerry & The Pacemakers, The Searchers, P J Proby, The Fortunes, Brian Poole and Chip Hawkes.

On Wednesday 2 October the theatre will host the feel-good celebration Soul Legends. Starring Rose Royce's Gwen Dickie, supported by an all-star cast, the evening will feature the music of Aretha Franklin, Tina Turner, Barry White, and many more.

The production embarks from soul's heady Sixties origins, progressing through to the present day via everyone's favourite Seventies and Eighties dance classics.

Gwen Dickey will also perform Rose Royce's number one hits which include Wishing on a Star, Love Don't Live Here Anymore, Is It Love You're After, and Car Wash.

On Saturday 5 October, the theatre welcomes the return of one of the country's best-loved comics with Paul Merton's Impro Chums. The star of Have I Got News For You and former regular of Whose Line Is It Anyway, brings four of his comedy friends to create a new and unique comedy show before your eyes.

Based entirely on suggestions from the audience, Paul and his chums use their highly-honed improvisational skills and an almost manic compulsion to show off to create hilarious sketches and games.
