POE: MACABRE RESURRECTIONS Opens At Church St Theatre, Nov 16

By:

FIVE DIRECTORS. FIVE NEW WRITERS. ONE TIMELESS VOICE.

The church where Edgar Allan Poe himself once worshipped as a child is the setting for five of his most disturbing works, brought into the 21st century by some of the country's most courageous and visceral writers. Second Skin Theatre presents Poe: Macabre Resurrections, an innovative celebration of the gothic writings of Poe.

This unsettling piece of site-specific theatre will send chills up your spine as Second Skin Theatre deliver a show ‘possessed of grit and determination' (TIME OUT on La Chunga). Pushing theatrical boundaries with a production which promises to be at once ‘urgent and addictive' (THE STAGE on La Chunga), each piece will be performed in a different part of the church, with one performance taking the audience out of their comfort zones and into the graveyard.

Second Skin Theatre are the Resident Company of The Church Street Theatre, this winter their creative team of associates have transformed St Mary's Old Church and graveyard into a venue fit to house the macabre writings of Edgar Allan Poe. Join them as they resurrect his haunting tales in the very neighbourhood he spent his childhood, Stoke Newington.
