Olivier award nominated Lost Dog's new show Juliet and Romeo, reveals the never before seen story behind the Shakespearean classic Romeo and Juliet. This tragedy by William Shakespeare has been adapted numerous times throughout history being heavily revised and modified to suit individual director's visions.

But, never like this...

Ben Duke has created an alternate version in which literature's most famous young lovers didn't die in a tragic misunderstanding, they grew up and lived happily ever after. Well they lived at least.

Now in their 40's and experiencing a marital crisis brought on by growing seething resentments and the pressure which accompanies being the poster couple for romantic love, the show sees them try couple's therapy.

Romeo (portrayed by Ben Duke) is described by Duke as experiencing a mid-life crisis, trying to make the transition from the passionate and impulsive teenage boy he was into the man he wants to become.

Juliet (portrayed by Solene Weinachter) on the other hand is more focused on the past than the future, being narcissistically attached to the extraordinary teenager she had been and is finding the mundane ordinariness of her current adult life a struggle to come to terms with.

Duke and Weinachter dance and talk their way through an untold version of the popular story. The performance consists of a combination of fast-paced inventive writing with interleaving movement and expertly timed music creating a truly enthralling evening for audiences

With Lost Dog's blend of dance, theatre and comedy this duet takes on the cultural obsession with youth and people's issues with longevity.
