Hot Coals Theatre Presents KNOCK KNOCK National Tour

Hot Coals Theatre's magical and charming family and Deaf accessible show goes on a UK tour in Autumn 2018. Using clown and physical theatre to tell a story of love, shattering gender roles and societal expectations.
Two hearts, one cottage and a book with all the answers - a modern folk story for our times. Once upon a time, tucked away in a small rickety cottage deep in the heart of the forest, a woodcutter goes about his life in a world of woodland magic. When one day a stranger knocks at his door, bringing with her a most unexpected of spells...
Knock Knock has been created to be completely inclusive to both d/Deaf and hearing audiences, and is suitable for all ages (suggested 9 yrs+). The company have taken out ALL spoken and signed language, creating their own visual and universal language on stage, with every sound cue matched to a lighting or visual cue on stage. Creating a shared experience between the d/Deaf and hearing audiences.
Hot Coals Theatre was founded in 2012 by alumni of RADA's MA Theatre Lab. As a clown company who take inspiration from Charlie Chaplin, his sensitivity and detailed work is something they try to emulate and his belief in tackling hard-hitting issues with the lightest of touch sits right at the core of their work. Their unique style, sometimes described as cartoon for the stage, enables them to tell important human stories with gentleness and warmth. Their past productions include critically acclaimed shows Storm in a Teacup and Finders Keepers.
