Ahead of an impressive forthcoming season, Hackney Empire have today announced a major restructure of their senior management team. This sees the creation of a leadership framework that will consolidate the achievements of recent years by developing strong programmes and maintaining a vibrant and resilient organisation that serves its audience and embraces current and future challenges and opportunities.

The new roles of Executive Director and Director of Artistic Programme will work together to provide a strong infrastructure so that the business and the programme operations act in tandem to achieve these aims and to cement the financial sustainability of the organisation whilst developing audiences through the presentation of a top class programme.

In the short term the two new positions will inherit and support the exciting and dynamic Spring programme. Upcoming highlights include the UK Americana Awards on Thursday February 1st, which will be hosted by the legendary broadcaster Bob Harris OBE and feature performances from nominees and award winners, including Robert Plant, The Wandering Hearts and Imelda May. February 22 to March 3 sees the launch of English Touring Opera Spring Tour, which features a new production of Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro and a double bill of Puccini's Il tabarro & Gianni Schicchi along with Fireworks - a dazzling concert of Rossini arias. From March 6 to 31 the RSC will stage the London premiere of their acclaimed production of Hamlet directed by Simon Godwin and starring Paapa Essiedu in the title role following a UK tour and prior to performances in Washington DC.

Chair of the Trustees Delphine Brand says

Just coming out of a bumper pantomime season at Hackney Empire, we are incredibly excited about our Spring programme. With such an eclectic mix of high quality work, it highlights the rich array of what the theatre can offer to its diverse and extensive audience. Added to this the two new roles will consolidate and further strengthen our work of recent years. We are looking forward to a bright and exciting future
