EDINBURGH 2011: BWW Reviews: THE AXIS OF AWESOME, The Gilded Balloon, Aug 13 2011
After two sell-out runs at the Fringe in 2010, The Axis of Awesome return with some classic crowd favourites which have propelled them to the international success, as well as new musical comedy material.
Although the group have won a number of awards over the past year, including Best Australian Act at the 2010 Sydney Comedy Festival, and have received over 25 million YouTube views on their most well-known hit, 'Four Chord Song', the group (consisting of Lee, Jordan and Benny) prove that they have the comedy prowess to pull off a high-energy live show.
Having originally started in The Gilded Balloon's smallest room on the ground floor, years later they've now made their way up to the turret and play The Gilded Balloon's largest room, the Debating Hall, and for good reason. Packed full of loyal fans every night, keen for another dose of Awesome, it's clear that they'll be a mainstay of the Fringe for years to come.
