Carriageworks Theatre Presents EXTRAORDINARY, Feb 26, 2015

An original production, Extraordinary opens at Carriageworks Theatre Saturday 26th February at 2pm and 7:30pm. This exciting new drama is brought to you by Carriageworks Young Theatre Makers, directed by Ruth Cooper.

"It's a gift.

That's what they say.

But I'm not so sure.

Maybe being a genius is a curse.

Maybe I'd rather be normal."

Extraordinary exploits these ideas, revealing the stigmas attached to being a child genius and the difficulties they must overcome to change the world.

The easy tolerance of the young reveals the lack of acceptance to change within society by bringing to life moments of genius with disastrous ends. An adult dominated world is portrayed, showing how children with big ideas are persecuted for deviating from the norm.

In the end it's not just about being smart; you need the courage to stand up for what you believe in, despite the challenges.

Extraordinary will be performing:

Saturday 26th July 2014
