Festival fans flocked to the 2017 Cheshire Fest this weekend to celebrate the end of the summer in style.

This year's re-launch of Cheshire Fest attracted approximately 5000 people to the heart of Cheadle Hulme to enjoy over 20 hours of live music, a wide selection of great food and drink and loads of brilliant family activities to enjoy - from live entertainment, to fairground rides and rolling around in the hay! The weather held out throughout the weekend with large periods of sunshine and warm temperatures.

The family-friendly event featured an exciting line-up of entertainment, along with a host of stalls selling mouth-watering food and bars offering the perfect way to raise a glass to the end of summer in the beautiful Cheshire countryside.

The first day saw a swathe of popular music tributes like Dan East (Ed SHeeran), Be-Beyonce and Want You Back (Take That tribute) wooing the crowds; whilst Sunday's big heavy-hitting festival bands ended the weekend on a high with anthemic performances from Oasish, Absolute Stone Roses and Antarctic Monkeys keeping people bouncing and bopping right through to the end.

Cheshire Fest launched last year as a celebration of music, food and drink and this weekend's return was bigger and better than ever.

Feedback from visitors on the day and on social media has been overwhelming with a real positive feeling about the safe, family-friendly atmosphere on site - and it being a wonderful day out with a difference for the area. The bars and food offer got particularly rave reviews - with comments about the fantastic range of real ales, lagers and the gin garden being a big hit with the adults!

Organisers have stated their sincere thanks to everybody who supported and attended this year and Festival Director, Philip Osborne said; "It's been mega. We knew that all our hard work would come around and our plans really shone through on the weekend. It's great to just see so many happy, smiley faces from Nan's and Grandad's right through to Auntie's, Cousin's, the little ones and even the odd pooch having a great time!"

Festival Director Ben Harris added;

"I couldn't agree more. We're so excited by where we can take this in future years and there's already some big ideas on the table about that, so watch this space! We'd like to thank Manchester Rugby Club and Alison, Tim and Chris for being fantastic hosts, as well as our whole team of staff at HAP Recruitment and Mobile Bars to You, as well as our Event Management partners Orb Events for helping us to realise the potential of this event. Watch out 2018!"

Visitors can expect some news about the return of Cheshire Fest soon; with information about a growing programme and format coming for next year.

Orb Events Managing Director, Debbie Boyd said;

"We do a lot of family festivals and events in the region each Summer, but I've got to say that this has been a real highlight of the year for us and a great way to end the Summer on a high... It did exactly what it said on the tin! It's been fantastic to work with the organisers, they really are a brilliant team. We only had since June to pull this together and look what was achieved - so wait until we've had a full 12 months on it!"

Off the back of this fantastic success, organisers of Cheshire Fest are also pleased to announce that they are developing a Christmas Festival for Cheadle Hulme that is due to launch later this year. News about the location, programme and dates still to come - but locals can expect a festive feast of food, drink, traditional markets and much, much more!
