AJ & Curtis Pritchard to Star in CINDERELLA at Leamington Spa's Royal Spa Centre
The brothers will return to the pantomime stage this holiday season in the family production of CINDERELLA.
Royal Spa Centre has announced that dance duo AJ and Curtis Pritchard will star in this year's production of CINDERELLA, appearing as Prince Charming and Dandini.
The brothers are known for their television work, including appearances on Strictly Come Dancing, Love Island, Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, RuPaul's Drag Race UK, and Hollyoaks. Most recently, they toured the UK in Come What May, a stage tribute to Moulin Rouge.
This production will mark AJ and Curtis Pritchard's sixth appearance in CINDERELLA with Imagine Theatre. Wales Online previously described the pair as “naturals in the world of panto.”
AJ Pritchard said, “I absolutely love performing in Cinderella, and my favourite moment has to be that very first entrance on stage, when you see the audience's faces for the first time. Imagine Theatre has such a long and proud history of bringing pantomime to the Royal Spa Centre, and it's a real pleasure to be part of that tradition this year.”
Curtis Pritchard added, “I get to have a lot of fun playing Dandini because he's right at the heart of the action and the comedy. Each time I play the role it's slightly different — although I usually end up getting a custard pie in the face at some point!”
Imagine Theatre has produced pantomimes at the Royal Spa Centre since 2010. Joint CEO and Managing Director Steve Boden said the company was “absolutely thrilled” to welcome the brothers back for this year's production.
The production follows Cinderella as she dreams of a different life while living under the rule of her Wicked Stepsisters. When an invitation to the royal ball arrives, Cinderella receives help from her Fairy Godmother and Buttons as she attempts to change her future.
