With the motto “Dance is a secret language of spirit.” , Martha Graham shaped the contemporary dance throughout her over 40 years career and was an inspiration to numerous artists. She has forever changed the boundaries of this art form with her works on the basis of social, political and psychological contents. Dancer’s ground-breaking style and pure body movements take its inspiration from this reality.
This dance company always tries to keep the master spirit of Martha Graham alive and continues to fascinate its audience with the unique American dance styles. With the new adopted programme, Martha Graham Dance Company, the oldest and the most rooted dance company of the USA, includes new works of modern artists inspired by Graham and masterpieces of Graham, her contemporary artists and her followers into its repertoire.
With its iconic programme that consists of choreographies that are full with rich historical and thematic narrations, the company will present a visual feast at the Izmir Festival.
