BACP ANNOUNCES AUDITIONS FOR

"Moon Over Buffalo"

The Broken Arrow Community Playhouse is pleased to announce auditions for Ken Ludwig's madcap comedy "Moon Over Buffalo" on Sunday, February 7, 2010 at 5:00 PM. The cast includes: Four Women and Four Men. One woman in her 70's or someone who can play it, one in her 50's and two in the 20's to 30's age range. One man in his 50's and three in the 20's to 30's age range. There will be cold readings from the script.

The hilarious "Moon Over Buffalo" centers on George and Charlotte Hay, fading stars of the 1950's. At the moment, they're playing Private Lives and Cyrano De Bergerac in rep in Buffalo, New York with 5 actors. On the brink of a disastrous split-up caused by George's dalliance with a young ingénue, they receive word that they might just have one last shot at stardom: Frank Capra is coming to town to see their matinee, and if likes what he sees, he might cast them in his movie remake of The Scarlet Pimpernel. Unfortunately for George and Charlotte, everything that could go wrong does go wrong, abetted by a visit from their daughter's clueless fiancé and hilarious uncertainty about which play they're actually performing, caused by Charlotte's deaf old stage-manager mother who hates every bone in George's body.

Directed by Jana Ellis, this will be the fifth production of BACP'S 30th Season - "Lust, Laughs and Love" The first of six performances is scheduled for Friday, April 9, 2010.

Clark Theatre is looking for a volunteer to do a little bit of drum work during final week of rehearsals and all performances of Annie Get Your Gun. Mostly this would be supplying sound effects, not playing with the music. All the gun shots in the show (a lot!) would be done using a rim shot, we could use a drum roll in certain places, and Erin has a few other ideas how to use the drums.

We need at least a snare drum, with maybe a tom-tom and cymbal coming in handy.

Dates are: Rehearsals on Feb 12-13, 15-18 and shows Feb 19-21 and Feb 25-28. All times 6 pm except Sunday matinees 1 pm and the first Saturday rehearsal, Feb 13 at 3 pm.

If you play, or know somebody who does, reply to this email ASAP or call 746-5065.
